Undated manuscript formulary of James S. Read, grandfather of the donor. Several loose papers are inserted in the volume, one dated 1870 (p. 159). On page 131 are two prescriptions, one from the Saint Louis Homeopathic Pharmacy, H.C.G. Luyties, and Evans Drug Co., Fayetteville, Arkansas. According to Polk's Medical Surgical Register, Dr. Read was a homeopathic physician, an 1869 graduate of the Homeopathic [sic] Medical College of Missouri.
